Cityscapes at night

View of BGC at night from across Pasig River

Long-exposure cityscapes are a fantastic way to capture the beauty of urban life. By using a long shutter speed, and often with a tripod or other stabilizing method, long exposure photography can bring out details in a scene that would typically go unnoticed due to movement.

Extended exposure to cityscapes produces a beautiful atmosphere, where the hustle and bustle of the city are transformed into something more serene and dreamy. Bright lights become streaks of vibrant color, traffic becomes a blurry wash of color, and people become ghostly shapes amid the night. Buildings, monuments, and monuments become illuminated by the streets below, and even stars in the sky reveal their majesty.

Combining different elements in an extended exposure photo allows you to create a unique look. You can focus on details in the frame to draw attention, like prominent buildings, bridges, and other architectural landmarks. You can also play with light sources such as street lamps, neon signs, and reflections of light on wet surfaces. This can create a stunning painting-like effect.
