Fuji GFX 100S Trial

Fujifilm Philippines gave me the opportunity to have a go with the GFX 100S. This camera is very similar in size to full-frame mirrorless cameras and has put all the good stuff into a small, light, and affordable package; it's hard to resist. Presently, the GFX 100S is the most affordable 100MP camera.

Most of the native lenses have about 5.5 to 6 stops of correction for camera shake and additional optical stabilization in some of it. Image stabilization is critical for optimum sharpness at this high resolution, especially creating handheld images in low light situations with slow shutter speeds.

The camera has the same compact battery pack as the X-T4 and is suitable for around 450 images.

The dynamic range seems compelling, and in RAW capture, this renders into a considerable amount of exposure latitude for rescuing shadows and highlights.

Compared to top-end full-frame cameras, the 100S lacks speed. This has never been the aim of medium format cameras, and 5fps is still quick enough for fashion, wedding, and travel photographers. The camera is, in my opinion, an all-rounder and workable as well as any full-frame camera.

Here some samples from today’s Photowalk with the GFX 100S and the 30mm lens.
