Cyberpunk

Not too far away in the distant future, scientists have found a way to move thought and recollection into the senses of robots.

Human society has nearly been wiped out by a century of pandemics. Less than 10,000 living humans are left, but thousands more resume their life in robot shells.

These robot humans know that the natural number of residents is too tiny to repopulate the Earth, so they explore a method to create new robot minds, using their own thinking habits and the thought patterns of the last surviving natural humans as a template. They create hybrid characters, combining different personality traits to increase variety. The minds of the living/physical humans are more capable of growth and development than the robot minds. So the last remaining humans are essential to the future multiplicity of robot-mankind. After different tests and unique experiences, the minds of the natural humans are scanned, copied, and uploaded into a robot.

Living as lab rats, the biologicals are frantic to escape their hellish existence. Maybe their robotic counterparts can help, but will they?
